Dr. El-Sanhouri is a board-certified and fellowship trained retinal and vitreo-retinal specialist. He performs many retina surgeries including retinal detachment repairs as well as a variety of in-office procedures to treat macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and other chronic and degenerative eye conditions. He received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit. Dr. El-Sanhouri completed his retina fellowship at the Cincinnati Eye Institute.

Dr El is the crème da la crème of eye drs and you need not look any further. I saw another “Dr” in GR. That Dr and practice need to follow Dr El and LO Eye Care around to learn right from wrong. The other “Dr” was careless and went ahead with surgery when it wasn’t needed. Dr El has diligently worked to fix ALL of the other guys mistakes. I have seen Dr El over a year now and he has gotten me to where I can see from my left eye. I never thought I would be able to see from it again. I've only had an extended wait a few times. My first retinal tear had no symptoms (found during routine eye exam by regular ophthalmologist), and Dr. El was able to perform the laser treatment that day. When I experienced symptoms in my other eye several months later, he was able to visualize the area, determine that treatment wasn’t necessary, but that there is an area to monitor for changes.
